iStamps Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 3, 2026
iStamps helps users scan, identify, and organize stamp images. This Privacy Policy explains what data the app processes and how it is used.
Information We Process
The app may process the following categories of data:
- Photos selected by the user or captured with the device camera.
- Stamp crop images generated from those photos.
- Authentication information provided through Firebase Authentication and Google Sign-In.
- Collection metadata such as stamp name, country, year, similarity score, and saved collection entries.
How We Use Information
- To detect and segment stamps from user-selected images.
- To identify stamps by comparing them with a reference catalog.
- To save identified or unidentified stamps into the user’s collection.
- To authenticate users and protect access to their collection data.
Camera and Photos
The app requests camera access only so the user can capture album or stamp images for scanning. The app also allows the user to select existing images from the device photo library. These images are processed only to provide the app’s stamp scanning and identification functionality.
Data Sharing
We do not sell personal data. Data may be processed by service providers required for app functionality, such as Firebase Authentication and backend infrastructure used for collection and stamp identification features.
Data Retention
Saved collection items remain associated with the user account until deleted by the user or removed by the service. Temporary processing files may be deleted automatically.
User Controls
- You can choose whether to capture a new photo or use an existing image.
- You can save a stamp as identified or as unknown.
- You can delete saved items from your collection.
